Kicking Racism, a non-profit organization, was founded by Mack Bigby. His desire is to create a community that brings awareness to and combats racism. On June 17, 2015, a horrific event took place in Charleston,SC, where a young, white male walked into Mother Emanuel Church, and shot and killed 9 people as they worshiped.
The aftermath of this tragedy was nothing short of miraculous. The black and white communities of Charleston came together, hand in hand, and walked across our beautiful Arthur Ravenel Bridge. Wouldn’t it be nice if we all could come together… ALL races, ALL religions, ALL people, and walk hand in hand before another tragedy occurs? Kicking Racism was birthed from this tragedy.
To bring awareness to prejudice, discrimination and racism by creating a platform to communicate and implement change to our youth members of society.
Our Vision and Purpose
Our vision is to create a better future for our youth, free from hatred based on differences. We want to stop racism and discrimination of all kinds. This includes, but is not limited to, discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, religion, race, class and nationality. We want to stop the “headline makers” and the “usual and customary” stuff. We are starting a grassroots movement and we need your help. Become a part of the solution!
As a 501(c)(3) organization, Kicking Racism relies on donors to help us bring awareness to racism and discrimination. We are committed to transparency and fiscal responsibility.
